Global IT companies from Korea and other countries organized global alliance and launched ‘Klaytn’.
“Establish as Asia’s leading blockchain platform and lead the popularization of blockchain”
Starting in early July, 9 services such as ‘Peable’, ‘Hint chain’, etc. will be launched first.
Klaytn, a blockchain platform operated by leading global companies such as Kakao, LG, Celltrion and Netmarble, was officially launched. Blockchain applications(apps) to be served through Klaytn will be added one by one from early July.
Kakao unveiled its ‘Governance Council’, a partnership that will launch the main net of the blockchain platform’Klaytn’ and operate the platform together.
‘Klaytn’ is a platform developed with the aim of proving the value and usefulness of blockchain technology and leading the popularization of blockchain. It focuses on meeting requirements of the performance and scalability of large-scale user-oriented services and establishing an environment where stable services can be operated.
In the operations of ‘Klaytn’ partners of ‘Governance Council’ join. It consists of about 20 global companies representing information technology(IT), communications, contents, games, and finance, etc. The company explained it has mainly built a Governance Council with companies located in Asia, considering that Asian area such as Korea, China, Japan, and Singapore is leading the blockchain industry and that the public acceptance of new technology is high.
The Governance Council will be responsible for making key decisions about Klaytn’s technology, business, etc. and operating Klaytn’s consensus nodes. Beyond platform operations, it is also under discussion to develop new services based on Klaytn or to incorporated blockchain technology into existing businesses.
